Looking for dresses for Ladies Day but not sure of the Ascot dress code? Whether you want to make a statement in stripes or shimmer in the sun, we’ve picked our nine favourite dresses that tick ALL the boxes. Plus with Ladies Day just around the corner, there’s no need to panic – our awesome Order by Midnight delivery service means you can have your gorgeous new dress the very next day!

The Yellow Lace Dress
We’re starting with our fave… If this isn’t a serious Ladies Day contender then we don’t know what is! Coming in sizes 6-20, this pretty lace dress is the perfect all-rounder. There’ll be no rule-breaking here as this one adheres to the Royal Enclosure’s dress code preventing spaghetti straps, bandeau and halter neck styles. Accessories-wise, you can either stick to the pastel theme or mix it up with bright colours!

The Fluted Sleeve Dress
Bell sleeves are THE shape of the season and look super elegant on this floral print dress. Navy is timeless too and lends itself well to occasion dressing! Shoes and bags-wise, we’d go for either hot pink, white or light blue to match the print. For tall ladies wanting to tick the knee length box, this dress also comes in a taller length in sizes 8-20 – excellent!

The Sequin Maxi
Who says you can’t wear sparkles in summer? Ok so aside from being raaaaather hot, you’ll definitely turn heads! This Gatsby-esque maxi dress is a total stunner; featuring gorgeous back detailing and premium embroidered sequins all over. The length of course is perfect, as is the modest v neckline and straps. Wear with minimal nude sandals and a matching hat or headpiece. Talking of hats… the Ascot dress code requires headpieces with a solid base 4 inches or more in diameter!

The Floral Bodycon
Coming in the same motif as the navy fluted sleeve dress, this one’s for the bodycon fans! It’s a flattering length skimming just below the knees so we suggest keeping your heels high for maximum leg lengthening. At just £35 in tall, petite or regular, we think this dress is a total steal!

The Belted Dress
This is one seriously chic cream dress that wouldn’t look out of place along the French Riveria. For something a little different, we love this lightweight jersey dress complete with a waist-cinching belt. Coming in cream with a subtle blue and grey check print, it’s bang on trend this season – plus it’ll see you through a whole summer of events. We love the idea of pairing it with navy accessories for an effortless but elegant look.

The Spliced Print Dress
For an eyecatching ensemble, this new season spliced print is a must. It comes in summery cobalt, lime green and magenta patchwork print, which would look great with bright all-white or all-red accessories. This dress has a super on trend high neckline and is slightly cinched at the waist.
At just £24, it’s gone straight in our basket!!

The Pleated Midi Skirt
The Ascot dress code rules state that skirts are acceptable, so long as they are of modest length. Cue the pleated midi. This hemline is just perfect for ensuring your dress or skirt falls below the knee. Although not strictly a dress, you can team this delicious lime green midi skirt with a pretty lace top or beaded vest to complete a dress-like look. Just ensure the top you choose has thick straps or cap sleeves and you’re good to go!

The Abstract Print Dress
Ok so we might have just picked another floral bodycon and called it something different BUT we couldn’t not include it! The flattering fit in the latest photographic prints is just perrrrfect for nailing that Ascot look. We could definitely see this working with a cream oversized hat and coordinating court shoes.

The Embellished Dress
Last but certainly not least is this swoonworthy beaded dress in nude. Featuring delicate all-over beading and a twisted back detail, it’s the ultimate mix of summer tones and sparkle as well as glamour and elegance. Match with a tonal nude clutch bag, shimmering heels and a natural make-up look.

Are you lucky enough to be heading to Ascot this year? What will you be wearing – or have these outfits swayed you to add a couple of things to your basket? We’d love to see your looks over on Twitter @nextofficial!
